Joseph E. Root
 
     
 
Mr. Root is an attorney with 30 years experience developing, protecting, and exploiting patent portfolios. He serves as Chief Patent Counsel to UnitedLex Corp. a leader in legal process facilitation, with operations in the US and India, and he is the founder of QualiPat, LLC, where he provides improved patent drafting and technical writing training. Previously, he was Senior IP Counsel to SAP AG, a worldwide leader in enterprise management software headquartered in Germany. Earlier, Mr. Root served as Senior Vice-President and General Counsel to Fidelity National Information Systems, a public company providing data services in the real estate market. His career before that point spanned a range of positions both in-house and in private practice, including General Counsel to Marquip, Inc. in Phillips, Wisconsin, and IP counsel positions with Johnson Controls, Inc. and RJR-Nabisco, Inc. He engaged in private practice with the New York office of Kenyon & Kenyon. A frequent speaker and writer, he is the author of an upcoming book on patent drafting, to be published by Oxford University Press in 2010. Mr. Root received a J.D., magna cum laude, from Wake Forest University, and a B.S. from the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY. Before attending law school, Mr. Root held engineering and production management positions with Corning and General Electric. He served as an Armor officer in the U.S. Army, commanding combat units in the US, Germany, and the Republic of Vietnam.
 
     
     
 
Bhavya Mehta
 
     
 
A former lecturer of Computer Science at University of Delhi, Ms. Mehta has submitted her Ph.D. thesis in the field of Software Configuration Management Systems. She has also done her Masters in Software Systems from Jamia Milia University, Delhi. She qualified a course work in Software Engineering and Design and analysis of Algorithms from University of Delhi. She has authored research papers in Journal of Computer Science, Journal of Analysis and Computation, International Journal of Computation, Journal of Information Systems workshop and several other national and international Journals. She has been the reviewer at Journal of Information Systems Workshop held at Arizona; U.S.A. Ms. Mehta has been trained by Steve Shear of SVS Inc. in the field of US Patent laws and procedures.
 
     
     
 
Dr Manish K Gupta
 
     
 
A former Head of the Department of Production & Industrial Engineering at J.N.V. University. His Ph.D. work is in the field of Production Automation specifically in the field of Computer Aided Manufacturing. He has nearly 33 papers to his credit in various international journals, international and national conferences/seminars etc. Dr. Kumar has been actively associated in organizing various national seminars/conferences and is recipient of Career Award for Young Teachers from AICTE, New Delhi. His field of specialization lies in Production Management, Quality management, Entrepreneurship Development and Industrial Automation. Dr. Kumar has been trained by Steve Shear of SVS Inc. in the field of US Patent laws and procedures.
